Insight Unified Solutions started as a one-person shop in 2019 — no name, just a Chevy truck and a willingness to show up. Cat6 pulls, small office networks, residential houses. The first dozen jobs were all the same call: "The previous installer left and nothing works the way it should." "We just got this new system and it's not what we were promised." "We just need something that works."
Turns out, that's still the call we get most often.
We kept hearing the same complaints — undocumented installs, no labels, mystery line items, vendors who disappeared after the invoice cleared. So we built the company we wished those clients had hired the first time. Predictable scope. Real phone numbers that real humans answer.
Today we work across Northeast Ohio — small businesses, new construction homes, residential installs, home labs, and multi-site companies with more moving pieces than most vendors want to touch. We standardized on UniFi for the network, cameras, for doors, and for voice because it lets us hand clients one dashboard instead of four — or manage it for them from off-site.
We added Proxmox, ZFS and Ceph because every fifth client eventually asked: "what about servers, do you know of anyone that does that?" Now we run that, too — single-node where it makes sense, three-node Ceph clusters when high-availability is non-negotiable.
↳ THE THESIS
"If the network is doing its job, you forget it exists. We're the people you call back two years later because you finally remembered who installed it."
